Tomorrow is election day. I hope someday they have an election where I actually think a candidate would really make a difference. This was the most negative campaigning year I've ever seen. I don't know if the candidates realize it, but - for me, and I'm sure a lot of other people - negative campaigning turns me off automatically, even if I had thought about voting for that candidate. Why don't they tell people what they will do, will try to do, and what they have done in the past that would make the people want to vote for them. To me,that's just common sense.
Oh well.............I've already voted (absentee). May the best (person) succeed...if there is such a person.

It seems to be an unfortunate fact of politics, but negative claims stick while constructive proposals don't. I've read that a $Million spent attacking the opponent ... even if the claims are false ... helps a candidate's chances more than spending air time telling us why we should vote for him or her. It follows that candidates then avoid telling us their proposals to protect themselves from criticism, to reduce their target area, so to speak. So the public is left to vote for "leaders" who won't tell us what they plan when in office and whose ads do nothing but tell us what's wrong with the other guy or girl.
Democracy may have been safer before we came have an understanding of the media and psychology.
Damn! I have to do this under Anonymous because I forgot my password. I'll have to work on this. :-(
I think you may be 100% right. Sad, isn't it.
